In this episode of Open Book, we hear from Evelyn and Darren, Physical Therapists at California Children's Services. The California Children's Services (CCS) Medical Therapy Program (MTP) is a statewide program that provides occupational therapy (OT) and physical therapy (PT) to children from birth to 21 years who have qualifying medical conditions or diseases. These are physical conditions that affect the ability to control the movements of the body. Examples include cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and congenital orthopedic abnormalities. All services are provided free of charge to families whose child has a medically eligible condition or disease.
