"My daughter wears SMO's and likes to take her shoes off. With these shoes she can't get them off as easily. I still put the shoe string through the zipper loop before tying them, but she doesn't take them completely off. Love Them!"

"My review is more of a story so I can get personal and people in the same situation looking for shoes for braces will be confident, Billy Footwear is the answer to buy your loved ones a quality shoe that is easy to put on without the ugly look of the black shoes. I am Rose's caretaker and ordered these shoes for her. This is the third pair I have ordered. I have been searching for shoes for the past 6 years that actually fit leg braces. These shoes are undoubtedly the best shoes out there for braces. Rose refuses to wear those ugly black diabetic shoes and all the big-name athletic shoes no longer make 4E wide shoes since moving production to China. Rose loves these shoes. A wide variety of styles and colors and so so easy to put on the braces. Here is my story: I used to special order her shoes from those big-name brands that cost $150 or more. She needs 4E wide shoes for her braces and hates the black medical shoes and will not wear them. About 6 years ago, problems started with all the big-name brands. Some no longer had 4E available and told me XX Wide was that same as 4E width. One particular brand that we had purchased for years still advertised 4E, but starting about 6 years ago, when we ordered 4E the shoes were slightly wider than regular shoes. The XX and 4E wide were actually 1/2" wider than the medium. I did a search for shoes for AFOs and shoes for braces and the pages of listing come up with the shoes from the medical supply and orthotics sites come up. They all had the same ugly shoes costing $150 to over $200. When I was on the internet one day, I saw a small advertisement in the bottom corner for Billy Footwear. When I went to the sight, the first thing I thought is this person is a genius. I was a little skeptical about zipper shoes because as most of you know, the zippers they put on clothes and jackets these days tend to break within months. I ordered two pair just in case the zipper did not last. I can tell you I was not disappointed. Very high-quality shoes and still on the first pair months later with no zipper issues. Listen, if you have someone you care about and need shoes because of a disability, don't force them to wear those ugly medical shoes. They want to feel normal just like everyone else. Those shoes you buy in the shoe store, even the name brands, are cheap quality. Billy Footwear has a wide variety of colors and styles and let them pick out a pair that makes them feel like they are special."
