Episode #133: Open Book with Shamar Muir
In this episode of Open Book, we hear from Shamar Muir, young Jamaican athlete now living in Canada. In 2012, while at a practice session for track and field, he broke his leg. Then, unbeknownst to Shamar at the time, his initial medical treatment caused compartment syndrome, which later compounded the injury. Shamar eventually needed his foot amputated. But still an athlete at heart, Shamar places his focus on turning his challenges into a source of strength with a passion for living life to the fullest.
