Episode #89: Mad Kicks

"Mad Kicks was born out of realization of a need. When our namesake, Madison, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and began treatment, Founder Marlene Thies became immersed in a community. It was evident that since adaptive shoes and socks weren't covered by government assistance, that families of children with disabilities were often limited to the footwear they could obtain. Children need comfortable shoes and socks that work well with their equipment and therapies, and thus Mad Kicks was born." In this episode of Open Book, we hear from Marlene Thies, Founder and CEO of Mad Kicks (madkicks.org).
