As the old saying goes, "Birds of a feather flock together." The saying highlights that people of similar character, background, or taste tend to congregate or associate with one another. For example, people tend to be the average of the five people they spend the most time with.  The power of association is a real thing and can either build us up, drag us down, or simply keep us stagnant in life. Hence, who we choose to associate with is an incredibly important decision.  In order to really embrace the true nature of association power, we need to recognize that...

I was first introduced to mountain biking when I was a sophomore in high school. And I fell in love with it immediately. The thought that you could pretty much go anywhere you wanted under your own power was a huge draw. And being a new driver, I strangely found myself more interested in riding my bike from place-to-place rather than using my truck. In other words, when you are upon the walkway and standing in between the box-beams it feels as if you are hovering in the air—WAY...

A couple of weekends ago, my wife and I were driving over Snoqualmie pass, which is about 45 minutes east of Seattle.  Seeing the snow covered slopes I was reminded of a story from my childhood that my parents frequently tell.  When I was around seven years old, my mom and dad took my sister and me skiing for the first time. I remember being in the parking lot by our car getting all of our gear on. My sister, three years younger than me, was not really cooperating so our mom struggled to get her all bundled up. "Do you...
